It will touch upon many facets, including evidence-based teaching styles, communication skills, and podium presence. In these days of social media and unlimited exposure, I find so many young professionals crave to be noticed, stand apart from the crowd and differentiate themselves — all too often in unusual ways, confusing popularity with competence. They may attract many to the well to taste the water, but the water is rarely sweet. None the less, most yearn for the spotlight, each trying to pull away from the peloton. And so I get constantly questioned at conferences about how to graduate to the "global stage”. So I thought maybe this little presentation might motivate a few to follow a path focusing on substance rather than odour.
